Overview: Periodic publications is an indispensable tool to keep abreast with the "Java time". Most Java projects/innovations unwind with such acceleration that almost any book runs the chance of being outdated the moment it hits the store bookshelves. Periodic journals fill that gap and help us stay up-to-date with the latest developments and modifications as well as inform about the upcoming conferences, seminars, courses and other industry events. Not to mention that sometimes it is very helpful to keep an archive: recently working on some of the Java algorithms I remembered that I saw very interesting solution to a similar problem a couple of years ago in Dr.Dobbs Journal: it took me several hours to find that old magazine in the pile, but it did save me several days of fighting the possible undercurrents and code reefs.
